PIF (Parallel InterFace) Modules
Via the Parallel InterFace bus (shortly: PIF bus), it is simply possible to connect a multitude of peripherals to computers with built-in PIF.
PIF-PIO
Universal digital I/O module with the 82C55 (three 8Bit I/O ports). The 24 lines can be led directly to a 25-pin Sub-D connector. There is room for adaptations and additional hardware.
PIF-SIO
Serial RS232 interface. The module uses an UART (SMC 80C17), tied to a 25-pin Sub-D connector. The signals RxD, TxD, RTS and CTS are used.
Dimensions including connector: 56mm x 70mm.
PIF-LPT
Parallel Centronics interface, providing a printer port, which is almost PC compatible (different register addresses). 25-pin Sub-D female connector.
Dimensions including connector: 53mm x 70mm.
PIF-I/O-24V
Seven opto-decoupled 24V inputs and outputs. Max. load 350mA per output, with overload protection. External 24V supply voltage.
PIF-REL24VDC
Relay interface board with eight relays (change-over) 24V/0.5A. The current states are readable.
PIF-REL230VAC
This relay board controls four relays (on/off) 230V/10A. All eight contacts are tied to a 8-pin Phoenix-connector. The current states are readable.
PIF-TIMER
Counter/timer module with the 82C54 (three 16Bit timers). The clock inputs can alternatively be connected to the quartz oscillator or to another timer output (cascading). In addition the board has 8 latched, bi-directional I/O ports (TTL-level).
PIF-ADC12/6CH
The 12Bit A/D converter MAX181 with integrated analog multiplexer provides six channels with a maximal conversion rate of 60kHz. The MAX328 allows programming of the input gain in eight steps.
PIF-Proto
Universal prototype module, intended as a do-it-yourself module. There is much room for hardware, a GAL20V8 and 4 DIP switches for decoding. Only available as a kit for self-assembly.
