Allocation
Price increases due to extremely risen semiconductor prices
A phantom named "allocation" haunts developers. It is always the same, every few years, semiconductors - and this time also some passive components - get rare and expensive.
The manufacturers of semiconductors increase their prices heavily, and to make everyone understand that the situation is serious, start rationing. It becomes difficult to get the components needed for production in the right moment. As a consequence, the buyers order a multiple of what they actually need.
The chip-brokers run into some sort of gold fever and want to make the fast Euro. The whole thing heats up until the soap bubble bursts. The buyers cancel, suddenly there are again lots of ICs, prices fall.
Unfortunately it is not yet so far. We were able to bridge the time until today, but now we are short of resources and have to pay the present market prices.
In short, the rise in price that we pass on to our customers, lies around 10%. Not concerned are - of course - software and SBCs with only a small portion of memory. Also with the development kits, we did without price increases.
The following products are concerned:
MEGA340, MEGA332, SCOTTY332, SCOTTY08, ZWERG332, Z80mini3, IC11B and ZWERG11plus, as well as the option FLASH.
You can find the new prices in the product descriptions. Please be prepared for longer delivery times.
