Single Board Computer with LPC2106, 60MHz

Small in Size - big in Performance

The single board computer DIL2106 is the first ARM-based product offered by Paul und Scherer. The center piece is the Philips controller LPC2106. The board is similar in size to a 32-pin dual-in-line EPROM.

For the wiring of the connectors see the manual. DIL2106 can be inserted into a 32-pin IC socket. This means that developers can make a conventional design with 2.54mm contact pin spacing, without having to deal with SMDs. By the way, the controller LPC2106 is 7mm x 7mm in size, with 48 pins.

DIL2106 comes with a DC-DC converter which generates the 1.8V core voltage without significant loss of power. I/O voltage is 3.3V and is supplied by a low dropout regulator. 3.4V to 5.5V can be used as supply voltage. I/O is 5V-tolerant. The wide range of supply voltage makes DIL2106 suitable for designs in 3.3V as well as 5V.

Due to its "size" and low power consumption, DIL2106 is ideally suited for battery-powered applications. The controller offers additional features to save power: Software-controlled clock frequency, switching off unused on-chip peripherals and different kinds of sleep modes.

For software development a C-compiler running under MS-Windows is available.

This compiler is the ARM version of WinECO-C. It is based on GNU GCC and provides libraries and programming tools for the LPC2106. Following the tradition of WinECO-C we offer complete development kits allowing users to start development straight away.

A command line version of the compiler is also available for Pinguin Linux.
